Gurupiran Velu was born in 1927 and met Mahan in 1953. He was initiated into the practice of Kundalini meditation by Gnanavallal Paranjothi Mahan. Gurupiran was an ardent disciple of Mahan. In 1974, when Gurupiran Siva Sankaran establish the Paranjothi Paripurana Gnanam Malaysia (PPPGM), he sought out for Gurupiran Velu to manage the sabhai.
Gurupiran Velu was the first President of PPPGM. He worked very closely with Gurupiran Siva Sankaran to bring Mahan to Malaysia in 1976 and 1980. Gurupiran Velu also played a key role in introducing many disciples to the sabhai.
In 1980, upon the advice of Gurupiran Siva Sankaran, Mahan appointed Gurupiran Velu as one of the “Guru Initiators’ of PPPGM. Under the guidance of Gurupiran Siva Sankaran, Gurupiran Velu initiated many disciples in Malaysia. Upon the Mahasamadhi of Gurupiran Siva Sankaran in 1994, Gurupiran Velu was appointed as the 2nd Principal Guru (Gurupiran) of PPPGM.
Gurupiran Velu was a peaceful and silent guru. He does not speak much in the sabhai, but always advised disciples to focus on Mahan’s meditation method and I-GOD Philosophy. Gurupiran Velu provided steady leadership to the sabhai until his Maha Samadhi in 1997. The sabhai would like to thank Gurupiran Velu and his family members for their support and service to Mahan’s work in Malaysia.
